Over the years, gardening has evolved and is now more of a hobby than one’s passion. It isn’t just about sowing seeds and waiting for the plants to grow. A nicely designed garden reflects the creativity and taste of the gardener maintaining it. Gardening when pursued as a hobby gives a person the chance to take their mind off regular chores and be involved in it wholly. This wholesome attention, when channelized effectively, can help bring out the creativity in a person.
The content in Indian Garden Flowers is presented coherently. It is succinct and seldom goes into the technicalities behind gardening. This saves a lot of time in reading, and is therefore best suited for the gardener hobbyist. Details about gardening aside, this book also delves into discussing the aspects that make gardening a joyous affair.
The book discusses the planning that has to go into the conception of a garden, the identification of commonly grown flowers, after-care of flowers and the usage of fertilizers and manure among many other aspects. Around 76 colourful illustrations are also included that make reading about gardening a vibrant experience. The book also provides a monthly garden reckoner to help track the progress of your garden on a timely basis.
Indian Garden Flowers was released in February 2007 at a Rose Festival and went on to become a bestseller. The book is being translated into Hindi as well.
