The JEE Main or the Joint Entrance Examination, replaced the All India Common Entrance Examination (AIEEE) and IIT-JEE examination in 2013. The JEE is now conducted as a selection process for students who wish to pursue courses in engineering and architecture in various colleges across the country.
The JEE is held in two phases, the JEE-Main and the JEE-Advanced. The JEE-Main consists of two types of papers, one for the entrance into engineering courses, and the other for architecture and planning courses. Both papers include a core section of mathematics, which are objective and based on choice. The number of questions are 30, and 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer.
