Market / Audience
The approximately 200 law schools nationwide that are accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) require the LSAT for admission. Law schools that are not accredited by the ABA do not require the LSAT, but applicants frequently submit LSAT scores anyway.

The LSAT is offered four times each year―in February, June, October, and December. Most college students take the LSAT for the first time late in their junior year or early in their senior year.

From December 2008 through October 2009, the number of LSAT takers was 165,000. The number of test-takers has been increasing sharply since 2007, even though major law firms are reducing their hiring.

Number of Test-Takers: up to 165,000 annually.
